Last night at the O2 Academy in Islington I was lucky enough to catch some upcoming talent.
The Mission District are a new band who combine 8os Brit pop with a kind of warm rock and fuzzy punky. I recently heard their new single – Just Don’t Feel The Same – and was hooked. I warn you. It’s infectious.
They are currently working on a debut album – Youth Games – and I hope it includes a lot more of the type of electro pop present in the latest single. It got me dancing (as well as the crowd at the O2 Academy) and I reckon there are bigger and better things to come from this Montreal based group.
You can catch them in Nottingham, Cardiff, Oxford, Birmingham, Portsmouth, Guildford, Peterborough, Liverpool, Newcastle, Manchester, York, Dublin, and Glasgow over the next few weeks.
