Has anyone been watching HBO’s Emmy-award-winning The Knick? It features an electronic soundtrack by Cliff Martinez.

To co-incide with the second series, which airs in the UK on Fridays at 21.00 on Sky Atlantic, a new album has been released with tracks by Martinez and Gregory Tripi.

The series is directed by Steven Soderbergh who is known for his work on Behind The Candelabra, Magic Mike and Contagion. Actor Clive Owen stars as cocaine-addicted Dr Thackery who works at the highly experimental fictional Knickerbocker Hospital in New York in 1900.

The soundtrack is weird and wonderful and beautifully evokes the unusual atmosphere of the series.

Track titles include Pig Thermometer, So You Want To Cook Me and Son Of Necrotic Bowel Resection.

It is available via the HBO Shop. Check it out and don’t be frightened!
